It wasn’t true! Karol Gcontradicted Nicolás Maduro, the current president of Venezuela, by denying that she had composed a campaign song for his election campaign.
Carolina Giraldo Navarro’s team (the singer’s name) was in charge of transmitting her message in the media, refuting the statements made by the Venezuelan politician.
“The claims made by politicians or political parties that Karol has sent songs for campaigns are not true,” they told El Colombiano.
As we recall, Nicolás Maduro is currently campaigning for re-election, so during one of his rallies he said that he would receive a song from Bichota.
“Karol G sent me a song for my campaign,” he said to the applause of his voters. “Look, I already rehearsed the dance,” he added, laughing. “Abroad, they are calling me Nicol G,” he concluded.
In response to the statements made by the president, who has been in the Venezuelan government since 2013, Karol G’s team responded on NTN24: “[…] Obviously it is not true.”
He added: “Karol’s music has never been used for political purposes or to take sides in campaigns,” ruling out possible collaboration with the president.
