The Intellectual Property Rights Management Agency (AGEDI) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) have announced a strategic collaboration agreement to raise awareness among students about the rights of phonogram producers.

Defending the rights of producers is essential to encourage musical creation and ensure that producers receive the recognition and protection they deserve under the Intellectual Property Law. Being aware of this, the directors of the Master in Musical Industrial from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) have signed a collaboration agreement with AGEDI.

This initiative materializes in the launch of a program of two scholarships for the Master in Music Industry of the UAM, aimed at students who stand out for their interest and commitment to intellectual property. In addition, the program will include a series of seminars, workshops and conferences given by intellectual property experts and members of AGEDI. These events will be designed to provide students with a practical and up-to-date view of the legislation and realities of the music sector.

The director of the UAM master’s degree, Dr. Moussa Boumadantogether with the deputy directors, Nicolas Castro and Alex Montoyaexpressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration: “We are very pleased to partner with AGEDI in this important mission. Education in intellectual property rights is crucial to prepare our students to face the challenges of the professional world, especially in creative and technological sectors.”

For its part, Antonio Guisasolapresident of AGEDI, highlighted the importance of this alliance: “For AGEDI, it is essential that new generations understand and value the work of recorded music producers. “This collaboration with the UAM will allow us to foster a culture of respect and protection of intellectual property rights from the grassroots.”
