The renowned Dominican artist Fernando Villalona reported that he will pay tribute to Fefita la Grande for his great career in the meringue.
During an interview that granted the communicator Julio Clemente, Villalona explained that the recognition will include typical music, a Big Band, merengue with its rhythm, other colors and the use of other musical instruments.
“Right now I am paying tribute to Fefita la Grande, and it is typical, but with a Big Band, the teacher Manuel Tejada is doing,” said Villalona, who did not reveal for when he will be ready for the tribute.
Villalona highlighted the importance of continuing with tradition, however, he said, the need to make changes in the rhythm, will allow significant growth and evolution of this musical genre that defines the Dominican Republic.
