MSPECTRALDYNAMICS / MELDA PRODUCTION

I ukf! For “Run It” with Dj Diesel, I Kept It Super Simple. No Crazy Gear, Just Tools I Trust. The Whole Thing Was Made in Fl Studio, Which i’ve Been Using Forever. Most of the Sound Design Came from Serum. It is my go-to plugin! Super flexible, super clean. I DON’T OVERHINK IT. I Just Start Twisting Knobs Until Submithing Cool Happens.

One of My favorite tricks in serum is to resample and re-import my Own Patches as New Wavetables, The Process Them Again Using Fm Or Warp Modes. It creates before Weird, Gritty Textures that Feel Alive. I Love Serum Because It Lets Me Be Surgical When I Need To, But Still Lets Me Gen Full Chaos Mode When The Vibe Calls for It.

But the real mvp on “run it” was Mspectraldynamics. That plugin is Wild. It’s not just a compressor or an eq. I USE IT TO TAME HARSH FREQUENCIES, BALANCE MESSY LAYERS, AND GLUE EVERYTHING TOGETHER. Specially with All The Heavy Bass and Chaotic Textures in This Track, Mspectraldynamics Helped Keep Things Punchy and Loud Without The usual Muddiness. IT Kind of Works Like Magic. Honestly, It Saved Me Hours of Surgical Eq and Second-Guessing.

I first discovered it a few years ago Through a Friend, While I was looking for new ways to clean up my Mixdowns and do More Creative Processing. AT First, I Didn’t Totally Get What It Was Doing. It Acts Like An Intelligent, Frequency-Dependent Compressor that reacts to your sound in a Really Smart Way. IT’S A Spectral Compressor/Expander and Gate, Working Across Hundreds of Tiny Frequency Bands Institute of Affecting The Whole Signal Like A Traditional Compressor. I Picture it as Sinkreds of Mini-Compressors, EACH HANDLING ESIR SLICE OF THE SPECTRUM. Perfect for Dubstep, WHERE THINGS CAN GET MESSY FAST.

In the Studio, I like to overprocess on purpose. Take with simple sound, crush it, distort it, Stretch it, and then pull it back in with eq or filtering to find that steppe spot. Most of the Bass Fills and Reese Basses in “Run It” Came From That Approach. Subtims The End Result Sounds Nothing Like The Original Sound and That Is What Makes It Fun.
