The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky , announced this Saturday that he is on his way to Argentina, on the eve of the inauguration ceremony, which will be held this Sunday, of the elected president of the South American country, Javier Milei.

“On the way to Argentina, I met with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulises Correia,” Zelensky wrote on his X social network account on Saturday night (European time).
Argentine media had anticipated that Zelensky would travel to the presidential inauguration of Milei, who has publicly shown his support for Ukraine in the face of the Russian military invasion.

This is Zelensky’s first trip to Latin America since the war began. Ukraine has made improving relations with Latin America, Africa and Asia a diplomatic priority this year.
