Two people died and eleven others were injured this Thursday in an attack by USA in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, near the border with Iraq, according to Tehran on the twelfth day of Washington’s offensive against the Islamic Republic.
The Iranian state agency IRNA explained that the “enemy missiles” fell during the early hours of Thursday on the town of Shalamcheh, where an important border and commercial crossing is located through which hundreds of people pass daily.

The incident, the agency continues, took place near a passenger terminal.
So far, the Iranian media does not offer more information about the deceased or those who were injured, or about the severity of their injuries.
IRNA today reported other US attacks – without fatalities so far – in at least three more points in Khuzestan, located almost 800 kilometers south of the capital, where the Iranian president, Masud Pezeshkian, is expected to meet throughout the day with the Iraqi prime minister, Ali al Zaidi.
This province – according to Tehran – has been the target of a hundred US attacks in the last 10 days, leaving eight citizens dead and dozens injured.

The latest US attacks included maritime facilities, missile and drone depots, coastal surveillance posts and air defense systems, according to the report published in X by the United States Central Command (Centcom).
After Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding in June to establish a ceasefire, unblock the Strait of Hormuz and provide space for negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, US President Donald Trump ended the truce two weeks ago, considering that Iran was violating the agreement.
Since then, Washington has increased its attacks on the Islamic Republic, which has responded with bombings on Gulf nations allied to the White House such as Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Qatar.
