He Turkish government has warned this Wednesday that it will respond to hostile attitudes, after the air defenses of NATO, to which Türkiye belongs, have intercepted a ballistic missile fired from Iranwhose remains fell in the country.
Turkey “will not hesitate to defend its territory and airspace” and “will respond to hostile attitudes within the framework of international law”, for which it is in contact with its allies in NATO, assured the Head of Information of the Presidency, Burhanettin Duran, on the X network.

The NATO defenses in Türkiye intercepted an Iranian missile today over the eastern Mediterranean and the remains of the anti-aircraft ammunition fell in the extreme south of the country without causing victims or damage, the Turkish Government reported.
“A ballistic missile fired from Iran, which was heading towards Turkish airspace after passing through Iraq and Syria, was neutralized by NATO air and missile defenses stationed in the eastern Mediterranean,” the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement.
A remnant of an air defense projectile fell in the municipality of Dörtyol, in the Mediterranean province of Hatay, the note states.
This is the first incident on Turkish soil since the start of the US and Israeli attacks against Iran last Saturday morning.

After the event, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, to insist on avoiding any action that could expand the conflict, reports the Turkish agency Anadolu, citing sources from the Turkish Ministry.
The Defense statement does not specify what the target of the Iranian missile could have been, but the trajectory described is consistent with a missile fired from western Iran towards the Incirlik military base, near Adana in southern Turkey.
That air base is the main support point for other NATO allies in Türkiye and also houses US units.
Last Monday, the Turkish Presidency denied a hoax on social networks about an alleged Iranian attack on Incirlik and stressed that Turkey is not part of the conflict, caused by the attacks launched since last Saturday by the United States and Israel against Iranto which Tehran has responded with bombings against countries in the region, especially US bases or interests.
