The President’s National Security Council Team met this Tuesday to that the US president could order in the coming days, according to a source close to the meeting told the Washington Post.

The vice president, and the Secretary of State, have been part of the team that has designed this list of military options, while other avenues have been put on the table such as new economic sanctions, cyberattacks or clearer support for the protest movements, which have spread to cities throughout the country.

The meeting takes place after Trump said this Tuesday that he has ordered the cancellation of “all meetings” with Tehran officials and that the president’s envoy to the Middle East, suspended the contacts it had maintained until recently with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, and his team.

Trump has not ruled out the use of military force in Iran if the Ayatollah regime continues to repress civilian protests with violence and kill unarmed protesters, and just yesterday in relation to the mobilizations.

As indicated by various sources close to the White House to the Washington Post, The Trump Administration is divided on whether an attack on military or government facilities in Iran is the best optionsince a military attack, similar to the bombing of nuclear facilities in June, carries a high risk of miscalculation or erroneous intelligence material.

Furthermore, in Trump’s entourage there continues to be reluctance to intervene militarily in the Middle East and destabilize the region and not be in line with the promise of the “America First” political philosophy.
