Humberto Pernett stands out as one of the most important Colombian composers of the last two decades. His innovative approach has left a deep mark on music, especially on the generation that seeks to explore the traditional rhythms of Colombia, such as the ancient Cumbia, fusing them with electronic music.

With an extensive career and a wide list of collaborations, Pernett is distinguished by his constant search for new horizons in dance music. He can be described as a cybershaman, leaning on his ancestral flute called the gaita, an instrument native to the Caribbean coast of Colombia. In addition to this, he uses synthesizers and creates many of his pieces in his home studio. It is through this combination of elements that he manages to transform traditional cumbia, enriched with drums and maracas, into a cosmic experience, overflowing with mysticism and psychedelia, which we could call Cumbia galactica.
