SLIPKNOT has confirmed rumors that at least one new song is in the works featuring their latest additions. In a recent conversation with the band’s last drummer, Eloy Casagrande (ex-Graveetc.), he revealed that some ideas for new songs had been considered since he joined the group earlier this year.

In statements to Veja São Paulo, Big house said about it:

«I’m still trying to understand how the dynamic of the band works, it’s not so clear yet how things work in terms of albums and new songs. We have written some things, and for now they are on hold.

We have a concert on the 12th and we are going to spend a few days there, exchanging musical ideas. At the moment, I don’t think there is pressure to record new material. But I’m sure they want to do it, I don’t know when, because right now the band is focused on celebrating its 25th anniversary.”

The phrase “Long May You Die» has been used in marketing SLIPKNOT for the last month or so, appearing prominently on a billboard erected last month near Indio, CA. Fans of the multi-platinum masked metal band have been speculating whether the phrase was more than just a catchy new slogan.

Today, May 15, the group confirmed those suspicions on social media, revealing that it is, in fact, the title of one of the songs they have been working on. Whether or not she will become the first to share the Iowa group remains to be seen.

SLIPKNOT new

In addition to potentially being the recorded debut of Big house with the band, it is expected to also be the band’s first with contributions from their yet unidentified sampler/keyboardist, etc. This mysterious musician replaced Craig “133” Jones in 2023. Rumors that Jeff Karnowskiof Dirty Little Rabbitswas behind the mask emerged last month, but have yet to be confirmed or denied.

SLIPKNOT have played three concerts so far this year, since welcoming Eloy Casagrande after the battery. They will return to the stage this weekend as part of the «Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival» from 2024, with plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled 2x multi-platinum album, which will run through early 2025.
