On February 11, Colombian singer Shakira released a video on social media announcing that something good was coming. Hours later and amidst so much speculation about her mysterious message, the Barranquilla native confirmed that on March 22 she would release her twelfth album titled “Las mujeres ya no Lloran”, seven years after the premiere of “El Dorado”.
After spending two years recovering the status she had before moving away from music a little, the artist seeks to offer a new proposal to her audience, which is why she will release four different covers of the physical album, so that her fans can purchase it and collect them, just as Taylor Swift has been doing in recent times, an idea with which she has swept sales.
The theme of “Women no longer cry” is based on precious stones, so each cover will have a different one. “For months we worked with Jaume de Laiguana on these four editions. Diamond, Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire. Each one has an attribute. The Emerald; trust; the ruby the passion, the sapphire the vulnerability, and the diamond the strength and resilience,” he explained on his social networks.
There is no doubt that these four aspects describe very well what the life of the 47-year-old interpreter has been, and even more so in this last stage of her life which has been somewhat stormy due to her separation with the former Spanish soccer player, Gerard Piqué. . Since June 2022, Shakira has shown a bolder and more forceful face. From that inspiration have come the multiple songs that she has dedicated to the father of her children.
The Grammy Award winner’s new work will have 16 songs and collaborations with other singers are expected to come. Let us remember that, in the last two years, she has worked together with Karol G, Manuel Turizo, Fuerza Regida and Ozuna. Likewise, in January 2023 she premiered a session with the Argentine producer Bizarrap.
