Shakira has once again caught the attention of her millions of fans on social media due to some recent statements she made in interviews for the Premios Juventud.

The comparisons he made in his comments about his collaboration with Karol G and his latest musical work with Cardi B have generated a wave of reactions among his followers, who were quick to express their discontent through social media.

In her statements, the singer from Barranquilla shared a reflection on the rejections she has faced throughout her career and how these challenges have strengthened her, but she also referred to what it was like to work with these artists and the results she obtained with her projects. “There are many people who have said no to me, when I was little, for example, they made fun of my voice. The singer also had a space in which she spoke about her collaboration with Karol G on the hit single TQG, a song that both artists released as an empowerment anthem and which identified them at the time.

“It was interesting because it came from Te felicito, which is like the discovery of what’s happening to you, then Monotonía, which is acceptance, and from there Sesión 53, which is full of rage, but also with a bit of a sense of humor, because that’s how you always have to take things; and then I move on to TQG, which is like a stage of empowerment, of starting a new adventure, a new path, being there at the doors of something new knowing where you come from and the emotional baggage you bring and carry,” Shakira began by saying regarding how the song she made with Carolina Giraldo reflected her emotional state at that time.

However, the Barranquilla native emphasized the personal and professional connection she shared with Karol G during the creation of this interpretation.

“It’s a song in which Karol and I both felt that we were able to communicate well a life situation that we both went through, and also how we felt at that moment. We fully agreed, intellectually and I think emotionally and affectively. We were in a very similar situation and I think that’s why it was a perfect fit. It made perfect sense,” were the words with which Shakira described what it was like to work with Karol G.

What has generated controversy among fans of both artists is the praise that Shakira expressed towards Cardi B in another interview, because for many this should be the way in which she would talk about ‘La Bichota’

When referring to their collaboration on the song Puntería, the artist from Barranquilla described Cardi B in a very emotional way and did not skimp on words praising her partner.

“Collaborating with Cardi B was one of the best experiences I’ve had, with any artist, because she’s a woman who we already know is a music icon, but personally she’s super simple, easy to understand, she was always super collaborative, affectionate, I have the best memories of her and of this collaboration,” were the words used by the Colombian to refer to the moment in which she worked with the North American.

According to his story, from the moment he met her at Paris Fashion Week he was inspired to collaborate with her.

“I felt very lucky because I met her and at that moment I thought: ‘Why have I never done anything with Cardi?’, and I had this song Puntería that needed that feminine power,” the artist said.

The comparisons between his statements about Karol G and Cardi B did not go unnoticed by fans, who noticed an apparent difference in the tone and emotion with which he spoke about each collaboration and singer.
