Shakira continues to be the center of attention, not only for her music, but also for her personal life. Recently, the Colombian singer was seen at a dinner with an enigmatic man, whose identity was unknown. However, in recent days it was confirmed that he would be an ex-boyfriend of the singer.
The revelation of this date, which took place in Miami, was made by the program TardeAR of Telecinco. During the broadcast on August 8, the journalist Alex Rodriguez, who lives in the American city, confirmed that Shakira and Antonio De la Rua were photographed in what seemed to be a very close dinner. However, Rodriguez clarified that, so far, there is no romantic relationship between them.
According to the journalist, the reason for their meeting was strictly professional: “Antonio de la Rúa would be acting as Shakira’s accountant. Their relationship is one of extreme trust. People tell me wonderful things,” he commented.
She also claimed that the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rúa was behind her legal mess in Europe. “I am told that Antonio, when Shakira had legal problems in Spain with the Treasury over money issues, decided to contact her and since then they have had a relationship. I am told (that their relationship) is wonderful, that it is close,” she said.
The couple was once the subject of much media attention, both for their romance and for their breakup in 2011, which was marked by legal disputes. Despite this, it seems that the two have found a way to collaborate again.
Some of the show’s commentators have suggested that these kinds of reunions often have a deeper meaning, especially considering that their separation was complicated. Frank Blanco, one of the journalists, recalled that the relationship had ended in a painful way for Shakira: “They ended very badly and he had given her a very bad life in their relationship. He was not noble with her and she had a hard time.”
A long relationship
The story between Shakira and Antonio de la Rúa began in 2000, when they met during a dinner. Over time, their relationship became public and De la Rúa became not only her partner, but also her manager. They got engaged in 2006, but wedding plans never materialized and they finally separated in 2011. Since then, their lives had taken different paths, until this recent encounter has rekindled speculation.
In October 2022, some Latin American media reported that De la Rúa had played a role in Shakira’s decision to move to Miami, shortly after the release of her controversial song about Gerard Piqué, a song that, together with Bizarrap, became a hit of the moment.
