The president of Russia, Vladimir Putintoday sent a message of congratulations to the president-elect of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkianin which he expressed that he hopes for greater cooperation between Moscow and Tehran in all fields.
“Please accept my warmest congratulations on your election as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran”says the message, published on the website of the Kremlin.

Putin said he hopes that the work of Pezeshkian the office of president contributes “to further expand constructive bilateral cooperation in all areas” for the benefit of the friendly Russian and Iranian peoples and “in the interest of strengthening regional security and stability.”
“Russian-Iranian relations are friendly and good-neighborly. Moscow and Tehran They effectively coordinate efforts to resolve current issues on the international agenda.”the Russian president stressed.
According to the official results announced by the Iran Election Commissionin the second round of the presidential elections the reformist Pezeshkiana 69-year-old heart surgeon, won 53.6% of the votes compared to 44.3% of Saeed Jalili58-year-old former anti-Western Iranian chief nuclear negotiator.
