Ozuna shocked his millions of followers around the world by announcing his intention to start singing Christian music in the future. The Puerto Rican singer plans to use his talent in this genre, like Daddy Yankee has been doing.
In an interview with the program “Despierta en América”, on Univisión, the singer of “El Farsante” revealed that God has a plan with him to begin to spread his teachings through the lyrics of his songs.
“This is the purpose of each of God’s children. God put us here to fulfill a purpose, to supply him with some purpose to fulfill him. Daddy Yankee already fulfilled it, Farruko. I will soon be fulfilling it too,” Ozuna confessed sincerely.
He also gave his opinion on regional Mexican music. “Regional Mexican music and Mexican music in general has a lot to give. This is just beginning, it is being felt throughout the world. I think they are seeing it, from Peso Pluma, Junior H, Natanael Cano, to all the new artists who are growing,” Ozuna expressed for the aforementioned media. Likewise, he made it clear that he “loves” this musical genre.
Ozuna follows Daddy Yankee
If he keeps his word, Ozuna will join the select list of singers who dedicated their musical careers to spreading the word of their religion, such as Héctor ‘El Father’, Farruko and, recently, Daddy Yankee.
As recalled, the latter announced his retirement from reggaeton in 2022 to dedicate his life to Christ, which is why he put aside his secular music to focus all his efforts on making Christian music.
The decision was well received by Daddy Yankee fans at the time, so much so that many decided to follow his new artistic side. In fact, the Puerto Rican has already released a song in this genre, which is called “Loveo.”
