Orquesta Candela obtained important international recognition at an event that took place in the United States.
Little by little they are fulfilling their dreams. The Candela Orchestra celebrates its good moment and having won the Latin music Awards -Unity Award, as Legend and ‘Best Tropical Artist’ in the qqqumbia genre.
Without a doubt, the 35 years of uninterrupted history of the group that he founded in his homeland Monsefú weighs heavily. “For us it is a great emotion to win this Award in the tropical genre in New York. It means that our work is being seen outside, that fills us with pride and is a super motivation to continue on the right path,” said Víctor, Donald and Billy Yaipén of Orquesta Candela.
On the other hand, Josep Alvan, director of the Unidad Awards in New York, was surprised by the reception of the Peruvian qqqumbia in the world.
Their musical production is tireless and they recently released the hit song ‘Still’ with Panamanian star Joysi Love, former member of ‘La Factoría’. This new version in cumbia rhythm is a boom on social networks. Orquesta Candela also recorded, together with Group 5, the song ‘Tan interior de mi alma’.

The guys from Orquesta Candela revealed that they are collaborating with American Grammy winners Tony and Mimmy Succar, as well as Leslie Shaw and Elvis Crespo.
“This year 2026 we are going strong, the idea is to take the great leap towards internationalization, why not also aspire to international awards such as the Grammys, the Billboard,” noted the leaders of Orquesta Candela.
