At least five men dead and about 20 wounded were the result of a shooting that occurred last night in the palenque, where cockfights and betting are held, in the municipality of Petatlánstate WarriorSouth of MexicoThe State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported this Sunday.
According to versions, a disagreement after a cockfight, allegedly for betting, unleashed the shots, in the aforementioned municipality located in the Big Coast of the state.

After the first investigations, the State Prosecutor’s Office reported that five men were dead and, preliminarily, at least 20 injured.
“The Prosecutor’s Office continues to carry out the corresponding investigations to reliably determine the number of injured people, which preliminarily amounts to at least 20 people.“, he indicated in a statement.
He specified that the injured, including several from firearms, were transferred to the new community hospital in Petatlán and the most serious Zihuatanejo General Hospitalneighboring municipality.
The FGE reported that it opened an investigation file for the crime of intentional homicide by firearm against five men, against whoever or whoever is responsible.
Petatlán is a municipality stigmatized by the high rates of criminal violence that were recorded in previous years, due to rivalry between criminal groups in that region.

So far this year, criminal violence has skyrocketed in different regions of the state of Warrior.
Just on Saturday the authorities reported a confrontation between criminal groups that left at least five people burned, in the municipality of Heliodoro Castillolocated in the Sierra de Guerrero.
And last night it was also reported that three women were shot to death in the municipality of Chilapa.
