It was a bit of a scary evening for Karol Gwhose plane had to make an emergency landing late Thursday night due to a smoke issue in the cockpit.
ABC News shared the story, along with video footage that showed the singer’s private jet arriving at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles. According to the report, the plane took off from nearby Burbank, but quickly turned around after the pilots alerted a local tower about the smoke. It is unclear what caused the issue in the first place.
More than a dozen people were on board, including members of Karol G’s team and family. Luckily, the plane made a safe landing, and there appeared to be no injuries.
In footage captured by ABC, you can see Karol G exiting the aircraft and hugging her friends on the tarmac. The Colombian singer was riding in a plane decorated with her de ella signature barbed-wire heart logo and pink stripes. She was likely headed to Guatemala for the next stop on her Mañana Sera Bonito Tour. The reggaeton artist’s first show is supposed to take place tonight in Guatemala City, at the Explanada Cardales de Cayalá. It is unclear whether the flight mishap will affect the tour’s schedule.
Despite this scare, it has been an exciting year for Karol G already. Last month, she collected her first-ever Grammy Award, when she won the prize for Best Música Urbana Album (becoming the first female artist to do so). She also had a recurring role on the Netflix crime-drama miniseries Griselda.
