Today, February 16, is Jennifer Lopez day, who is stronger than ever with an album and film. This new production comes 10 years after publishing her last project, “AKA”, with which she stepped away from music until now.
“La Diva del Bronx” presented “This Is Me… Now”, a sequel to her album “This Is Me… Then”. The latter came out in 2002, although in 2022 she released a reissue to mark her 20th anniversary. In this new project, the artist narrates the second part of her romance with actor Ben Affleck.
“This Is Me… Now”, could also be the last album by the dancer, producer and fashion designer. She recently stated this in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Don’t tell Benny that’s what I’m thinking, but this might be my last album. ”
“I feel like it’s the end of kind of an era for me and the beginning of a new one, so I would never say never, but now I feel like I really put my heart and soul into this and I’m very happy, excited and it definitely took a lot out of me.” “added López, implying that this album represents a closure in his musical career.
The new album includes his collaborations with Anuel AA -”Rebound”-, Latto -”Can’t Get Enough”- and DJ Bruno Martini, in a “remix” of the solo version of the latter mentioned.
The title of the third song, “Mad in Love” – “Loca de amor” – implies J.Lo’s status in her romantic relationship. The lyrics, for their part, are a song about returning to Affleck and now finding themselves in paradise.
Lopez closes the album with “Greatest Love Story Never Told,” where she refers to her marriage being the “best love story ever told.” This topic has the same title as the documentary about her in motion, in which you can see how the force of destiny acted to bring the couple back together.
