J Balvin has shared details of his first album in nearly three years.
The Colombian singer and rapper will drop ‘Rayo’, which translates to lightning bolt, on August 9.
The follow-up to 2021’s ‘Jose’ will feature collaborations with a host of Latin stars, including fellow reggaeton acts Feid, Bad Gyal and Chencho Corleone, as well as Mexican country singer Carin León, plus emerging stars Ryan Castro and Blessd, among others . Posting on InstagramBalvin wrote:
“Life has shown me that breaks are essential to human growth. I’m here again, recharged, grateful, and enjoying music like when I first started. I present to you ‘RAYO’, an album that I really enjoyed creating with the greats of music and the new generations. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and feel the energy I felt while we created it⚡️Love you. Jose”
As a preview, the Latin Grammy Award-winner has shared a second single from the album, the Saiko-assisted Gaga, a Spanish-language, EDM-leaning reggaeton track produced by Keityn and Lexvz. It follows last month’s Polvo de tu Vida with Chencho Corleone and comes with a dramatic, greyscale Jean Lafleur-directed video, which was shot in London.
J Balvin will take his It’s Good To See You Tour to Australia and New Zealand in September. Tickets are on sale now.
