“On two previous occasions they attacked us while we were in diplomatic negotiations,” he argued in statements to the press before speaking at a public event in Madrid against the “imperialist aggressions” of the US and Israel.

He added that Iran is prepared for both options: “First, diplomacy, which has always been our preference, and second, the defense of our nation.”
He added: “As you know, we have been perfectly capable of defending our nation during this war of aggression.”
“The key at the negotiating table to achieve peace,” the ambassador explained, “is, above all, to recognize and respect the right of the Iranian nation in each and every aspect,” he noted, referring to the “right to develop technology, the right to live in peace, the right to development.”

“We have two options: either a nation that lives with dignity, which is not simply a nation, but a civilization, or speak, as (the US president) wrote and tweeted. donald trumpabout how to sow terror in a civilization,” he commented.
Asked about Israel’s role in the negotiations, he assured that “it has always undermined any peace effort, any attempt at a solution,” because it only thinks “about war, violence, murders, crimes and genocide.”
