The number of deaths due to the attack carried out this Saturday by Ukrainian forces against the Russian city of Belgorod rose to 24, reported today the governor of the homonymous border region with Ukraine, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“By 08:30 local time (05:30 GMT) the deaths amounted to 24″Gladkov wrote on his Telegram account, specifying that four of the fatalities are children.
He added that 108 injured people are admitted to hospitals, 25 of whom are in serious condition and will be transferred to clinics in other regions of the country.
The region of Belgorodwhich shares 552 kilometers of border with Ukrainehas been the Russian entity hardest hit by border incidents since the military conflict began in February 2022.
With the attack on Belgorod, the Ukrainian army would have responded to the massive bombings carried out the previous day by Russian forces against Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine, the largest of the entire war, since Moscow used about 160 missiles and drones.
