This emotional moment was possible thanks to technology, which allowed the members of Local People fulfill a dream they had cherished for a decade: unite their voices with those of Celia Cruz on emblematic songs.

The premiere of ‘Celia’ during the ceremony Lo Nuestro Awards marked a milestone in the career of the duo, recognized for their hits such as ‘Bailando’ with Enrique Iglesias and Descemer Bueno, as well as ‘La gozadera’ with Marc Anthony.

The musical number was accompanied by a festive atmosphere, fireworks and dancers in retro outfits inspired by Havana, thus paying a heartfelt tribute to the ‘Guarachera of America’.

It is worth mentioning that the realization of the project was possible after they found original recordings of the songs ‘She has fire’ and ‘La negra tiene tumbao’, which were digitized and used in the released song.
