CAVALERA has become synonymous with extreme metal music, a name that continues to enjoy the highest consideration today, a family legacy built on decades of musical aggressiveness. In 2023, Max and Iggor Cavalera They accomplished what some would say was an impossible feat: they revisited their early releases, “Morbid Visions” and “Bestial Devastation«, and they re-recorded them with bone-shattering intensity. A risk that few would even dare to attempt, and yet they artistically and prolifically achieved their signature raw sound through means that could only be described as magic or time travel.
It seems like the ball won’t stop rolling, as they now enter the final chapter of their early days trilogy. «Schizophrenia» is an iconic album in terms of early thrash and death metal, a name familiar to those of us dedicated to extreme metal. It was the point at which CAVALERA They refined their dark, dirty, speed-influenced songs into something a little more mature, developed and technical. Decades later, they have once again unlocked the madhouse that is “Schizophrenia«, opening the doors to that banished and twisted recording that will be unleashed on the world on June 21 through Nuclear Blast Records.
Today, the band publishes the powerful second single, titled «From The Past Comes The Storms«. Costin Chioreanu has recreated the animated video.
Max Cavalera it states:
«’From The Past Comes The Storms‘ is a fierce start to the album. It’s a pioneering song that uses the mentality of the 80’s metal movement. I love the apocalyptic vision of the video. costin, which shows the circle of life and death, war and pain. It’s going to be a blast to play live.”
Iggor Cavalera comments:
«’From The Past Comes The Storms‘ was one of the first songs we wrote for Esquizofrenia, also included in a demo version. I love the rawness between old school black/death metal influences mixed with thrash. The video illustrates the vibes of the song very well.

No strangers to collaborations, the brothers CAVALERA they recruited Travis Stone (Pig Destroyer) as lead guitarist, and that choice is evident from the first song. The complete training would consist of more former students CAVALERAas Igor Amadeus Cavalera (Go Ahead And Die, Healing Magic), once again brought his bass talents into the fold. Rumbling and rumbling the bass with brute force, it is clear that the double combination Iggor and Igor It is a rhythm section to take into account.
It is not surprising that the brothers CAVALERA They always thought that these songs deserved a new version with modern production. From April 15 to June 5, 2023 the band recorded the album again in Focusrite Room in Mesa Arizona. Mixing and mastering was carried out by Arthur Rizk.
The album cover «Schizophrenia» has obsessed and fascinated fans for decades. The brothers left no stone unturned and no detail went unnoticed, also reviewing the original album art, restored in hand-painted watercolors by Eliran Kantor.

With the impressive catalog that the brothers CAVALERA have created over the years, you will soon see that «Schizophrenia» will also rank among his greatest achievements. Max and Iggor have given free rein to an album that for many years was locked behind the rusty doors of an iron cell, barred by straitjackets and stalked by madness. From the past the storms come and «Schizophrenia» is released into the world once again.
