After more than three decades of musical career, Antonio Cartagena and Willy Riveratwo of the most important figures of Peruvian salsa of all time, premiered ‘Tell me and tell him’, their first song as a duo, with which they strengthen their commitment to music and end decades of rumors of rivalry, starting a new artistic adventure that will lead them to share the stage on Saturday, June 8 at the Bianca de Barranco Convention Center in ‘The versus of love’.
“It was a tremendous pleasure to have recorded with Willy Rivera, because we started our solo careers together in the 1990s. We both marked an era in the rise of sensual salsa showing our talent and identity, something that had not been seen in Peru until then. We have gotten along very well, we make a very cool duo, it is a perfect combination that is noticeable when you listen to the song,” said Antonio Cartagena, composer of the song.

‘Dime y dile’ arrives at an important moment for Peruvian salsa, refreshing it, giving it that classic but modern touch of a love story shared by two of the most emblematic voices of the genre, thus breaking years of rumors about supposed confrontations. “My gratitude to Willy for having accepted this challenge of recording together after 30 years of music and thus erasing the bad tongues that said we were fighting,” Cartagena explained.

For his part, Willy Rivera assured that the recording of this song, whose video can already be seen on YouTube: “It means the reunion with a great friend, a great colleague. It is also paying off a debt that we have from the past and the unique opportunity to share with an excellent musician and artist that I greatly appreciate and admire like a brother. “It has arrived at the right time.”
