The member countries of the so -called Core group signed this Friday in the Ukrainian city of a statement in which they undertake to promote the creation of a special court to judge those responsible for the Russian military invasion of announced the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Among the signatories of the declaration are the high representative for the EU foreign policy, Kaja Kallas; the Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, and the rest of the EU Foreign Ministers who traveled to Leopolis to celebrate the European Day and give its final political support to the creation of the court.

The signers of the text undertake to accelerate the work so that the court is established and begins to function as soon as possible and highlight the contribution of The European Commission (CE) to the steps that have been taken so far.

The court will have the power to investigate, process and judge Russian political and military leaders, who have the greater responsibility for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
