“Trump did not seek regime change in Iran. Regime change occurs organically or it does not happen. It is the Iranian people who decide what happens,” said Barrack, who is also ambassador to Turkey, in statements to the NTV radio station from Antalya, where he is participating in an international politics and diplomacy forum.

Barrack stated that Trump’s goal in Iran has always been to end Iran’s atomic program and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, blocked by Iran in response to the attacks initiated by the United States and Israel on February 28.
“He has never made any statements about regime change in Iran,” he said.
The president of the United States has boasted on numerous occasions of having achieved regime change after the selective assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and numerous senior officials during the attacks.
