“Special envoy (Steve) Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Doha this week for high-level meetings as we continue to discuss the memorandum of understanding,” Leavitt told Fox.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced shortly before a meeting tomorrow Tuesday in Doha, at the request of Iran.
Leavitt announced that these high-level conversations will take place “in parallel” with technical meetings.
On Iran’s part, its Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, had ruled out, before these statements from the White House, that technical meetings had been scheduled this week.
The American portal Axios had reported on Sunday night that the United States and Iran agreed to stop the bombings of recent days and meet this week in Qatar.

On June 21, Iran and the United States agreed on a 60-day roadmap to reach a nuclear agreement and lasting peace after a memorandum of understanding that established a ceasefire after more than 100 days of war and allowed the Strait of Hormuz to reopen.
However, tension returned in recent days, with Iranian attacks against several ships and US bombings against military targets on the southern coast of the Persian country.
Tehran later responded with attacks on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain.
Iran insists on exercising exclusive control of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz while Washington threatens to continue its bombing.
