The Minister of Defense of VenezuelaVladimir Padrino López, assured this Friday that the United States military maneuvers in Trinidad and Tobago are an “aggression” against the dignity of the Venezuelan people, in the midst of tensions between Caracas and the Administration of donald trumpwhich maintains a naval and air deployment in the Caribbean Sea.
“It is sad that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago lends its territory, degrades its territory, its sovereignty so that instruments for the death and massive destruction of people are placed there”Padrino López said in a video shared on social networks.

The official maintained that the citizens of the Caribbean island are upset and disturbed by the presence of the Navy of War USA to continue their military exercises which, in their opinion, are “completely deliberate to threaten Venezuela”.

On Monday, the Venezuelan head of state, Nicolas Madurosaid Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar “hypothec” Trinidad and Tobago for “threaten Venezuela”to the “host a military force in front” to the South American nation.

The military exercises are part of the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between both countries, which was renewed in December 2024.
