Although there are a total of 28 bodies of captives in Gaza (one of them, Hadar Goldin, held by Hamas since 2014), Israeli authorities were already aware that the terrorist group has not managed to recover all the bodies.
For this reason, already in the negotiations of the current ceasefire the parties agreed that an international entity would participate in the search for the bodies that Hamas did not hand over this Monday.
Guy Illouz26, kidnapped at the Nova music festival; Bipin Joshi24 years old, kidnapped from Alumin; Yossi Sharabi53, kidnapped from Kibbutz Beeri, and Daniel Peretz22, taken hostage near the border with Loop.
While Sharabi, Illouz and Joshi perished inside Gaza, Peretz died in the Gaza militants’ own attack on October 7, 2023, according to The Times of Israel newspaper.
This newspaper noted that Sharabi was murdered by his captors, while Illouz died from wounds received on October 7 in a Gazan hospital.
On October 8, Bipin Joshi’s family authorized the dissemination of a video of the young Nepalese man that is believed to have been recorded in November 2023 and in which he is shown in apparent good health. Since then, Israeli authorities have received no further signs that he was alive.
As explained on Sunday night by an official of the Israeli armythe bodies will be delivered to the Red Crosswhich in turn will transport them to make them available to the armed forces.

Inside Gaza, a small religious ceremony will be held for the deceased, whose coffins will then be carried out of the enclave, wrapped in Israeli flags.
Finally they will be transferred to the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine in Yaffa (south of Tel Aviv), where the bodies will be identified and the conditions in which they died will be determined.
The center noted yesterday that, in the most complex cases, it is possible that identification may take more than 24 hours.
