Pahlavi says He was prince heir to the prooccidental monarchy of Iranwhich was deposed in 1979 by a street revolution that led to the establishment of the current Islamic Republic governed by the Ayatolas.

In 1967, Pahlavi says was officially designated as crown princeafter his father’s formal coronation as Shahanshah (King of Kings) of the Persian Empire.

Pahlavi says He was educated in a private school located in the Royal Palace and reserved only for members of the SHA family. In his youth, he studied aviation and formed as a combat pilot.

In 1978, he traveled to the United States to continue his military aviator training in Texas, but his father’s overthrow grabbed him before he completes his training.

In January 1979his family left Iran, shortly before the triumph of the Islamic revolution led by the Ayatola Jomeini. Sha Mohammed Reza Pahlavi and his people went to Egypt, then arrived in Morocco, then to the Bahamas, Mexico, and finally to the United States.

Mohammed Reza Pahlavi had ruled with a hard hand, but also promoted an ambitious modernization of the country.

With the support of the United States and other Western powers, SHA tried to turn the nation into a regional power, promoting reforms in education, health, infrastructure and women’s rights. However, his government was criticized for political repression, the cult of personality and corruption of his environment.

The opposition to the SHA grew during the 70s, fueled by economic inequality, the repression of the dreaded Secret Police Savak and the resentment towards secularist policies.

To this was added the charisma of the Ayatola JomeiniShiite spiritual leader who from exile in France denounced the regime as corrupt and antipatriotic.

Mass protests began in 1978 and in a few months they paralyzed the country. In January 1979, SHA left Iran with his family under the pretext of a temporary trip. He never returned.

Jomeini returned to Iran in February 1979 and headed the establishment of the Islamic Republic, finally ending with the monarchy.

Iran’s SHA died of cancer on July 27, 1980 in Cairo.

Pahlavi says live exiled mainly in USAwhere he studied political sciences and has built his political support base.

He is an active opponent of the Iranian Islamic regime and has advocated a Referendum in Iran To decide your government system, without explicitly demanding the restoration of the monarchy.

PAHLAVI has said that his vision is that of a Secular and democratic republicand that he would be willing to accept the results of a popular consultation on the future of the country.

It has an active presence in social networks and between sectors of Iranian exile, especially in the US and Europe, and has sought support from Western governments.

He is married to Yasmine Etemad-Aminiwith whom he has three daughters.
