Daddy Yankee’s wife, Mireddys González, took to social media to share with fans that she recently had an experience that made her “reborn.”
“Today has been a WONDERFUL day. I have cried more than you can imagine, but they have been tears of joy… Why is it that when we are born we cry? Today was no exception to the rule. Today, August 4, 2024, I was born again and I am MEGA HAPPY. Thank you GOD for your mercy and for buying me at the price of 🩸✝️❤️🔥,” wrote the businesswoman on her Instagram account, where she has almost 2 million followers.
Although González did not specify what it was about, many Internet users interpreted the message as if it were a Christian baptism, a ceremony where the person puts an end to his way of life and gives way to doing the will of God in his new path.
“The best thing that can happen to us is receiving Christ and baptism,” “Bella, the best decision you have made. Today there is a celebration in heaven and this is the best thing that can happen to us, receiving Christ as our Lord in our lives,” and “The second birth is baptism… I am glad that you have made such an important decision clinging to the feet of Christ who is our salvation. Blessings and congratulations, Mireddys,” were some of the outstanding comments.
In December 2023, after finishing his series of five farewell concerts at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, José Miguel Agrelot, Daddy Yankee confirmed that he would retire from music to dedicate his life to religion and invited his followers to do the same.
At the end of the last performance of “The Goal,” the artist gave a farewell speech in which he said that for a long time he felt “empty,” but now he filled it with the word of God.
“This day for me is the most important of my life and I want to share it with you because living a successful life is not the same as living a life with purpose. For a long time I tried to fill a void in my life that no one could fill. I tried to find a meaning to my life and sometimes I pretended to be very happy but something was missing to make me complete and I have to confess that those days are over. Someone was able to fill that void that I felt for a long time. I realized that for everyone he was someone but I was nothing without him,” began the “Big Boss.”
In addition, the urban artist who is retiring from the stage assured that after his history in the reggaeton genre, he will begin a new one in religion.
“I was able to travel the world for years winning many awards, applause and praise, but I realized something the Bible says: What good is it for a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul? That is why tonight I recognize and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him. Thank you very much, now whoever knows me as Daddy Yankee can say, Daddy Yankee in Christ, Raymond Ayala in Puerto Rico. One story is over and a new story is about to begin, a new beginning. All the tools I have in my power like music, social media, a microphone, everything that Jesus gave me is now for the kingdom,” said Daddy Yankee.
