NOLA thrash and groove pioneers, EXHORDERwill release their fourth full-length album, «Defectum Omnium«, March 8 via Nuclear Blast Records. Today, the band revealed the album’s second single, “Forever And Beyond Despair«; a ripping, gripping pit thrasher with massive riffs and blistering solos. You know, so EXHORDER They are known.

Commenting on the new song, the vocalist and guitarist Kyle Thomas says:

«Our second single’Forever And Beyond Despair‘It encompasses many of the punk rock ingredients we grew up with. EXHORDER started in the New Orleans punk rock scene, so it made sense to return to this part of our roots. With aggressive angst and sarcastic themes, this song is absolutely a middle finger to the hypocrisies of the establishment.

Featuring 12 crushing tracks and ominous cover illustrations from Travis Smith (Katatonia, Opeth), the album follows the band’s 2019 release, “Mourn The Southern Skies«.

Commenting on the impending album, vocalist and guitarist Kyle Thomas it states:

«It has been quite a journey for EXHORDER since the 2019 release of ‘Mourn The Southern Skies‘. Lineup changes, as well as the pandemic and lockdown of 2020-2021 presented obstacles that were not easy to overcome. But we persevered, we put our heads down and got to work with intense concentration and real goals. One of those goals was to offer our fans our fourth full album. ‘Defectum Omnium‘is a collaborative effort in songwriting, as it was in the early days of EXHORDER. We produced it ourselves, as we didn’t feel the need or desire to bring in anyone from the outside based on our shared vision. It was also important for us to not only continue the natural progression that this band has had since the early ’90s, but to set foot back in our roots. The influence that punk and hardcore had on this band since our beginnings in the New Orleans punk rock scene has a strong presence. We’ve also made sure to keep a lot of our thrash roots in our songwriting process.

But we’ve also managed to keep our doom roots alive, which first appeared in the song ‘(Cadence Of) The Dirge‘ in 1992. In fact, in one of the new songs we have the participation of Rick Wartell and Bruce Franklin of Troubleand they did great!

From the moment we begin pre-production to the release date, we can promise that every part of’Defectum Omnium‘ has been put together with great care, and we are really excited about it! Our goal was to make an album that WE loved and that would give us the experience of a trip, or maybe even the effect of a roller coaster. “We can’t wait to share it with the world.”
