It’s the first month of 2024, which means it’s time for a new crop of Xbox Game Pass titles to satiate your growing appetite for games. And January’s offerings are solid, serving up everything from hundred-hour-long RPGs to survival horror remakes to four action-adventures and more. If you’re a Game Pass member, it’s a good start to the year.

Microsoft is handing out eight games to Xbox Game Pass subscribers over the next two weeks. Right now, you can download Storm in a Teacup’s first-person horror adventure game Close to the Sun, which is set in an alternate reality 1897 where there’s a technological war going on between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison. It looks like a really tense, atmospheric journey similar to Dishonored 2 and The Order: 1886.

January 4 brings Hell Let Loose, Cover 6 Studios and Expression Games’ multiplayer tactical first-person shooter set in iconic battles spanning the Western, Eastern Fronts, and North African campaigns of World War II. Bedtime Digital Games’ cute and surreal action-adventure game figurinewhich has some Bastion vibes, will be available on January 9. Both Compulsion Games’ survival horror adventure game We Happy Few and Metalhead Software’s arcade-y baseball sim Super Mega Baseball 4 are downloadable on January 11. Then you have Those Who RemainCamel 101’s first-person psychological horror thriller that you can download on January 16.

The headliners of this month’s list, though, are Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The former will be available on January 9, while the latter will be offered on January 16. All in all, it’s a pretty fantastic set of games to get 2024 started.
