She then added: “You have to know what you are going for and what you want, and depending on who you surround yourself with, you will achieve it. I went through a difficult time in 2016, suddenly the comments overwhelmed me, they hurt me… the press too. I fell into depression, I was hospitalized.”

Besides, Yahaira Plasencia She said that what happened strengthened her. “And I made mistakes because I didn’t know how to handle the press, I didn’t have anyone to guide me and tell me ‘Yahaira, calm down, sit down, talk, apologize’… but I didn’t know how to handle it, so from those months of depression, I got up stronger than ever,” she explained.

The ‘Patrona’ reminded young artists that this career is not easy: “In my country I am a very well-known or media-friendly person. I have been fighting against that, against the “hate”, for almost seven years, because we artists are exposed to that, especially when we are very well-known.”

Finally, she said that the most important thing is to believe in yourself. “We don’t have a private life, we have to be very careful with what we do, take care of ourselves all the time… What I’m saying is that you shouldn’t let a comment, through the screens, make you believe what that person is saying. Whether it’s because of your physical appearance or your talent, it makes you doubt who you really are as a person. Believe in yourself, don’t get carried away by those comments,” she said.
