Wisin & Yandel Say goodbye to their Last Mission at the Epic Coca-Cola Flow Fest in Mexico City
The unique Puerto Rican duo Wisin & Yandel crowned their emotional farewell to the Mexican stages with a masterful concert on the first night of the Coca-Cola Flow Fest urban music festival in Mexico City. More than 10,000 attendees vibrated to the rhythm of their hits in an edition that opened its doors to an amalgamation of genres, from corridos tumbados to cumbia.
Since their formation in 1998, Wisin & Yandel have been pioneers of Latin urban music, and their international tour “La Última Misión” marked their farewell in 2022. After selling out two concerts at the Arena Ciudad de México last year and another in Foro Sol this year, the Mexican public refused to let them go at the Coca-Cola Flow Fest. The acclaimed songs, from “Sexy Movement” to “Rakata,” resonated in a unison chant that seemed to defy their retreat.
Wisin excitedly shared, “I want to make history tonight. “I want all the beautiful women who came to enjoy ‘Los Líderes’ to sing so loudly that it can be heard on our island, Puerto Rico.” The night included surprises, such as the performance of “Besos Moja2”, an updated version of their 2009 hit, with the collaboration of Rosalía in 2022.
The duo didn’t just limit themselves to music; They dedicated special songs, such as “I’m in love” for Mexican immigrants and “Reggaetón en lo obscure” for lovers of sensual rhythm with a touch of tequila.
The concert, recorded for posterity, featured emotional moments, including Wisin’s request for the female attendees to sing loudly “Fiel,” a song he released with Jhay Cortez and Los Legendarios.
Yandel thanked the Mexican public and closed the night with “Something I like about you,” accompanied by a fireworks show that illuminated the starry sky.
On the same evening, reggaeton legend Ivy Queen, nicknamed “La Cabalota,” made her debut at Flow Fest, captivating with hits like “Que Lloren,” “Calentura,” and “Yo Quiero Bailar.” She surprised with unique versions of popular songs and presented an unreleased composition inspired by regional Mexican music, wrapped in the Mexican flag.
The festival also featured notable artists such as Young Miko, Piso 21, and surprises such as Los Ángeles Azules, Shaggy, and more. On Sunday, the magic will continue with performances by Maluma, Ozuna, Zion & Lennox, and Tego Calderón.
The Coca-Cola Flow Fest is not only a musical encounter, but an epicenter of emotions where artists and audience converge in an unforgettable experience.
