“Alma, Corazón y Salsa!” by Tony & Mimy Succar is now available on all digital music platforms.
“Soul, Heart and Salsa!” is the live album of Tony and Mimy Succar recorded in the National Grand Theatre of Lima and which brings to life the mother and son project “Mimy & Tony,” the album that led them to be nominated for a Grammy. More than a concert, it is a celebration prior to the premiere of their documentary film “Mimy & Tony: the creation of a dream” which premieres on September 12 in Peruvian theaters with a story of inspiration and a powerful message: It is never too late to dream and achieve your dreams!
“My first live production was “Unity: Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson”, the second “Live in Peru” And the third is “Soul, Heart and Salsa!” For me, the most emotional and important one, because it is about my family, about returning to the stage together after so many years. We used to play at weddings, but being on a big stage and traveling around the world has a lot of meaning. What we did in Peru is gratifying because we know that in our land, our people love us. I personally am very grateful to the fans who support my family. The two concerts at the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima were full. My mother had her dreams extinguished, she thought she would never return to the stage to sing, she was retired from music and out of nowhere she was standing there after being completely forgotten. I wanted to release this live album before the premiere of the documentary because I want people to know everything we have experienced when they go to the cinema from September 12. Being nominated for a Grammy is important, but there is more, unity and dreams can come true,” says Tony Succar, excited about the release of his new album.
“I am so grateful to God that he gave me the opportunity to perform two concerts like this. Nora Suzuki came from Japan after ten years to Peru and performed the iconic song “Sukiyaki” in a salsa version with my mom and also her “Salsa caliente del Japón” (Hot Salsa from Japan); Cali Flow Latino from Colombia sang her salsa choke with the famous song “Ras, tas, tas” and it was the first time we did “AEO” live, which is a success for us. An extraordinary performance of more than 35 musicians and a stellar lineup of Peruvian artists such as Bartola, Coti Loyola and Jair Mendoza. You are going to enjoy luxurious musicality. If I had to summarize it in three words it would be “Soul, Heart and Salsa!” It is a joy to see my mom shine, to see my brother Kenyi and my dad shine, to be united,” confesses the great Tony.
“At 64 years old, God had prepared this moment to share with my children, who are now my producers. Whenever my husband looked for opportunities and knocked on doors for us as artists, I never imagined that I would get to sing on such a wonderful stage as the Gran Teatro Nacional in Lima with musicians and artists of such level. Thanks to Tony who gave me the opportunity, who saw the artist who was there and trusted me. I never dreamed of being on the red carpet of the Grammys. Many things have happened in this time, we have become closer as a family, it is the most valuable thing and we want to share our story with more Peruvians, now I know that dreams do come true,” says Mimy of her meteoric career as a solo singer.

“We hope it will serve as an inspiration. I did it with a lot of passion because it is a dream that my mother thought would never come true. I still can’t believe everything that has happened and so quickly. That’s why I wanted to tell this story in a very musical, dynamic and emotional way. It’s a dream for me too, it’s the first time I’m going to premiere a production in the cinema. Thanks to the team, of course to my co-director in this adventure Santiago Díaz. I’m grateful to all the talent, to everyone who is part of this production, and above all to my family. See you at the cinema!” concludes Tony.
“Mimy & Tony: The Creation of a Dream” has already received awards for “Best Feature Documentary” at the LANAFF Latino & Native American Film Festival, the Universe Multicultural Film Festival, and is officially selected for the Georgia Latino International Film Festival 2024, the 10th Music Film Festival, the Hispanic International Film Festival in the United States, and the 15th Santander International Film Festival 2024.
