The cloaked figure Apex made his first appearance in ThunderCats #8 and is described as having a single glowing red eye. Anyone who tries to waylay him will regret it. One day, Apex arrives at a local saloon with a mission to complete. What the mission is and who the target is is a mystery to everyone except him.

Brisson recalled how ThunderCats It had been a staple in his childhood. “I’m hoping that we can do justice to the original series, while also surprising readers with our approach in this one.”

While Apex is a new character, editor Nate Cosby says that he’s been there for some time. “He’s here to stay,” Cosby said. “In the ThunderCats Apex SpecialEd and Rapha show who he is, what he wants, and how that’ll affect TCats for years to come.”

ThunderCats: Apex contains 28 pages and will be released sometime in December 2024.
