Víctor Yaipén’s career in the QQQumbia
With a career of more than five decades in cumbia, Victor Yaipén He took his first steps in music in 1973 when he founded, together with his brother Elmer Yaipén, the emblematic Group 5. Thus he began a path that would position him as one of the greatest exponents of the genre in Peru.
Some time later, Victor decided to start his own musical project and created the Candela Orchestra. In 2000 they released their first song, “Y todo el Perú lo enjoys”, but it was with songs like “When you fall in love” that they achieved great popularity, consolidating themselves as a reference in the music scene.
Today, his children are the ones who continue the legacy of Victorcaptivating millions of Peruvians with hits like ‘Far away from you’, ‘No te go’, ‘Me vas arrarars’ and ‘Tu lack of wanting’. For this reason, in December 2023, Radio Nueva Q paid tribute to him by giving him recognition for his outstanding career in QQQumbia.
