The prime minister of Slovakiathe populist Robert Fico, has assured today that his country will block the entry of Ukraine in the NATO to avoid a world war.
“We will block and veto the accession of Ukraine to the NATObecause it would be nothing other than the basis for a third World War”declared to the public broadcaster RTVS the head of the Government, who has opposed his country continuing to send weapons so that Ukraine defend itself from Russian aggression.

Fico, who will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart on Wednesday, Denys Schmyhain Uzhhoroda city in Ukraine on the border with Slovakiaindicated that at that meeting he will present a new humanitarian aid package.

In his statements today, he insisted that Slovakia will stop supplying weapons from its arsenals to Ukrainebut it will allow the sale of that material by Slovak defense companies.
He also argued that Ukraine enter the European Union if it meets, he said, the same conditions as other countries.
Before the change of government last October, Slovakia He was one of the strongest defenders within the European Union of the delivery of military aid to Ukraine.
