In a show of support and solidarity, singer Shakira has shared an emotional message addressed to the LGBTIQ+ movement in the framework of Gay Pride Day 2024. The Barranquilla native used her social media to convey a message of hope and love.
“I hope everyone had the best Pride month ever. Always supporting equality, freedom of love and friendship,” the artist wrote.
Shakira accompanied her words with a series of photographs in which she shows off a colorful outfit adorned with the colors of the rainbow, an iconic symbol of the LGBTIQ+ community.
The response from her followers was not long in coming, flooding her posts with messages of gratitude and admiration. This is not the first time that Shakira has shown her support for the LGBTIQ+ movement. Throughout her career, she has advocated for equal rights and has used her platform to give voice to important social causes.
The singer, known not only for her musical talent but also for her commitment to social causes, once again reaffirms her position in favor of a more just and inclusive world.
Gay Pride Day, which takes place every June 28, commemorates the Stonewall riots of 1969 and marks a milestone in the fight for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community.
It should be noted that the Barranquilla native spent approximately 20 days in her hometown to monitor the health of her father, William Mebarak, who was discharged last week from the Iberoamerica Clinic.
The artist was seen with her family in a restaurant in the north of the city, as well as in the Viva Shopping Center and in the Electrificadora Park sharing with her children and brother, Tonino Mebarak.
