In a video shared on the official Instagram account of the Premios Juventud, which celebrates leaders of Latin music, Shakira shared a message highlighting how criticism and rejection pushed her to keep going.

“There are many people who have told me no. When I was little, for example, they made fun of my voice. I think you always have to be very connected to what you want to do and believe in yourself,” the singer confessed.
