Seth Troxler and Bill Patrick are about to release their long-awaited collaborative book ‘In Between‘, and it will be on October 18, 2024 during the Amsterdam Dance Event. This book is a project that offers an intimate look at the lives of electronic music artists on a world tour that lasted ten months in 2023.

Patrickwho is a photographer, documented the adventure with 35mm cameras, capturing the energy of nightlife, moments of introspection, and the culture of the cities visited. With more than 250 carefully selected photographs and some select texts, the book combines elements of photojournalism, music photography and intimate portraits. It is Patrick’s first foray into the world of photobooks and a significant creative milestone for both artists.

The images, taken exclusively on 35mm film with an eclectic variety of vintage cameras (including the Contax T2, Minolta Maxxum 7000 and Olympus XA2), were taken over a nine-month period between February and November 2023. This period coincided with the dizzying world tour of Troxler which spanned four continents, 20 countries and more than 40 cities where they immersed themselves in various cultures, providing a deep insight into the life of a DJ and producer, beyond the stages and glamour, where the true essence of the trip lies.

Patrick expressed on social networks: ‘It’s been an emotional year, to say the least. So this moment is very special and significant. My first photography book is now available for pre-order‘. Continuous: ‘This book is an ode to our friendship that has lasted almost 20 years’.

Troxlerfor his part, shared his excitement for the upcoming release, ‘I am very excited to share this news. Today I am launching my first book’. He also highlighted the importance of the project, ‘Bill documented every moment of this trip combining photojournalism, music photography and portraits. The resulting photographs offer an intimate view of my life on the road and a kaleidoscopic reflection on the speed of life.’.

The title of the book, In Betweennot only references these more intimate moments of the tour, but also serves as a metaphor for the duo’s long friendship, which began nearly two decades ago outside a party in Williamsburg. ‘When Bill and I first talked about this book, it was a way for us to spend more time together. It became a year of looking at life through a different lens’says Troxler.

The exclusive launch will be in ADE and will include a book signing and a talk with the authors. Afterwards, there will be events in New York, London and Miami. The book will be on sale from November 12, 2024and you can reserve it in advance here.
