The 37th annual “Out in Comics” panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 is short on panelists, and founder Andy Mangels is seeking LGBTQIA2S+ creators interested in joining the lineup. Current panelists include Greg Lockard, Roberta Gregoryand JP Karliakwith others to be announced.

“Out in Comics” is sponsored by PRISM Comics. Mangels founded the panel (as “Gays in Comics”) in 1988 and moderated for 25 years before taking a five-year break, then returning and renaming the panel. Throughout its impressive runthe panel has featured a rotating list of queer and trans comics creators including Josh Trujillo, Danny Lore, ND Stevenson, Steenz, Roxane Gayand more.

In his request for panelist applications, Mangels notes that this year’s panel is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, July 27, though not the exact time. “If you are a current creator who is OUT (or wants to come out) and would like to be on the panel this year,” he asks that you contact him directly at [email protected].
