Residente (Calle 13) prepares to direct his first film – Digital Mediaverse

Puerto Rican artist René Pérez Joglar, better known as Residente, will debut as a screenwriter for the first film he will produce under his film company, 1868 Studios.

The award-winning singer-songwriter teamed up with Alexander Dinelaris, Oscar- and Golden Globe®-winning screenwriter for the film “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” – by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu – to work on the film “Porto Rico ”.

Dinelaris is also known as co-producer of the three-time Oscar-winning film “The Revenant,” and author of the book that gave life to the Broadway musical “On Your Feet,” as well as the West End production of “The Bodyguard.”
