John Arcudi is a seasoned pro in the comic book space best known for a lengthy critically-acclaimed run on BPRD and myriad spin-off titles in the world of Mike Mignola‘s hellboy. His most recent work has been for Image where – aside from the 2022 re-publication of his Dark Horse graphic novel The Creep – he has produced two creator owned series: action-adventure fantasy Rumble, co-created with James Harren, which ran from 2014 to 2019; and Civil War-set horror Two Moonswith Valerio Giangiordanofirst serialized between 2021 and 2022.

This new creator owned outing promises to be his own take on the science fiction genre. In the Image press release, Arcudi said:

Convert was maybe my first opportunity to write a science fiction story the way I wanted to, meaning something more personal, more intimate—while at the same time more fantastic—than what I’m used to seeing in the genre. My hope is that this human element in the comic will connect with readers.”
