The president of El Salvador and candidate for immediate re-election, Nayib Bukele, voted this Sunday in the midst of a strong security device, surrounded by members of his New Ideas (NI) party, hundreds of followers and under the gaze of a good group of national and foreign photographers and journalists.

Bukele, 42 years old and very popular, is the first president of the democratic stage of El Salvador who seeks immediate re-election and, if he wins, he would be the first to repeat in office even though the Constitution does not allow it.
