TRUCK 2024 is just around the corner and as always we are to be treated to a full weekend music that spans the genres. Here are just five artists we cannot wait to see at TRUCK Festival 2024.

The Magic Gang

The Magic Gang recently announced that they would be calling time on the band following a set of farewell shows. This makes seeing them at Truck Festival, at one of their very last festival shows, all the most important. The magic gang have been the soundtrack to indie festivals for many years and have always put us in a good mood. At the end of this set we’ll be willing them to ‘take back the track’.

Soft Play

Soft Play have returned after an extended hiatus! Bursting back onto the scene with new single ‘Punk’s dead’ we see the boys return with the energy of pure rebellion. Soft Play last played truck festival in 2019 before their hiatus and now 5 years later the boys will return to even more anticipation. If you are coming to Truck Festival for a mosh, then this is the place to be.

Declan McKenna

Breaking onto the scene in 2015 with ‘Brazil’, Declan McKenna you have demanded the attention of every indie kid who has grown up with him. Declan is n’t afraid to lead with important social and political topics in his writing and wraps these into sonically beautiful packages. Every Declan McKenna song feels like the soundtrack to a coming of age movie. If you are not yet converted, just watch a live rendition of one of Declan’s most political and demanding songs, ‘British Bombs’. With this you will be sold on screaming this set ending song in a field to match his passion.

If you weren’t planning to get to Truck Festival early on the Thursday, here is your sign to. Opening the festival on Thursday is Balancing act, Manchester born rockstars. Having recently sold out Oslo, Hackney and Deaf Institute, Manchester, these guys are on a clear trajectory. If you want to get ahead of the wave and say ‘I found them first’, now is the time. Balancing act They are charismatic and honest in their writing, and perform with an allure to match.

IDLES

Following their acclaimed Glastonbury set with political support from Banksy himself, IDLES will be taking the stage on Thursday night as the opening headliner. With the recent release of their 5th album ‘Tangk’we prepare for a revitalized and packed setlist. IDLES make angry music you can dance to and we know Joe Talbot will be cutting some shapes on stage. This might just be the best way to set us up for a long weekend of punk and rock mastery.
