With “Celebration Day – 30 Years Of Mob Rules«, the band around the singer Klaus Dirks announces an extensive compilation of classics MOB RULES with more than 150 minutes duration spread over two CDs. It consists of thirty hand-selected songs, including classics like “blackrain«, «Hollowed Be Thy Name” and “Rain Song«, but also songs that until now had had less prominence.
Klaus Explain:
«Immediately I have to think about ‘Way Of The World‘, which was the last song on our album ‘Hollowed Be Thy Name‘ from 2002. We got the former guitarist of Helloween/Masterplan Roland Grapow appeared as a guest and, in the end, the eight and a half minute song became one of the best in our repertoire.
In addition to this incredible representative sample of the band’s career, they have included some songs that were previously only available in digital format (as examples, the latest single «Hymn Of The Damned» and the version of Amon Amarth «Raven’s Flight«). These tracks have been carefully remastered by Markus Teske especially for this compilation.
With three new versions, «Celebration Day – 30 Years Of Mob Rules» also contains unpublished material. With great attention to detail, the band covered songs as diverse as “Run To The Hills» (Iron Maiden), «Fame» (Irene Cara) and “Square Hammer» (Ghost) and made them his own.
The French artist Stan W Decker (Primal Fear, Blue Oyster Cult, Rage) was hired to visual design the anniversary release, setting the perfect stage with a stunning cover illustration containing numerous cross-references to the band’s history. MOB RULES.
In short, every detail of «Celebration Day – 30 Years Of Mob Rules» shows the high quality standards of a band that has never done things by halves. Here’s to the next 30 years!
