The Only Tropical has managed to earn a place in the QQQumbia Peruvian after bringing her greatest hits to all corners of Peru. On August 21, the orchestra celebrated 25 years of musical history. However, behind his achievements is a Piura native who, with work and effort, has managed to become a benchmark in national cumbia.

It is about Walter Chunganatural Sechura (Piura), who left his Business Administration degree to achieve his dream of founding his own cumbia orchestra. His father, a fishing boat director, was his great support in achieving this. Although he started in the group as a singer, he currently holds the position of manager and musical director.

The official debut of The Only Tropical It was on August 21, 1998 at an intimate and private wedding event. Subsequently, they made presentations at various events in Sechura. It was then, thanks to songs like ‘Me tiraste al mar’, ‘Me voy’ and ‘Who are you’, that they began to echo beyond Piura, expanding their music throughout northern Peru.
